    An alumnus of the University of Louisville, Watson graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BA in English in 2005 followed by a MAT in Secondary Education (Concentration in English) in 2007. He currently holds an English teaching certificate for Kentucky (grades 8 - 12). From 2005 to 2007, Adam was a Theater Director (and taught Drama) at two public high schools. He has taught high school English classes since 2005. He was voted by his SOHS colleagues and faculty as the 2009-2010 Teacher of the Year.
    His teaching has also garnered accolades and press. Watson has been featured in OVEC Newsbytes (January 2006) and Bullitt County's The Pioneer News (Excellence in Education, March 2006). In October 2010, Watson wrote and published his first education article in NCTE's Classroom Notes Plus.

    ADAM DUANE WATSON was born February 7, 1974, in Kokomo, Indiana, to Harold and Wanda Watson. His father was in the Air Force, which resulted in frequent moves; Watson lived in Las Vegas, Nevada from 1976-1978, Louisville, Kentucky from 1979-1980, and Crete, Greece from 1980-1981. When his parents divorced in 1981, Watson moved back with his mother to Louisville, the hometown of both of his parents. In 1992, he graduated with honors from Jeffersontown High School. After meeting at a video store where they both worked, he married April in 2003. Their first daughter, Ayla Rain, was born in 2004; their second daughter, Aria Dawn, was born in 2011. They are also proud parents of Bond the tuxedo cat.

    In April 2005, Watson was the Production Manager / Assistant Stage Manager / Webmaster for Clive Barker's The History of the Devil at the Kentucky Center's MeX Theater. In August 2006, Watson returned to the director's chair with A Richard Donner Heaven, in its second appearance at the Rud.
    Between 2005 and 2008, as playwright director, Watson produced several theatrical works at two different high schools, including such classics as Little Shop of Horrors, The Glass Menagerie, The Wizard of Oz, and The Odd Couple. (In fact, at each school, it was the first time in several years that a full-book musical had been staged.)
